Flash Flood Strikes Valencia City, Bukidnon: Tragedy, Response, and the Path Ahead
What Happened
On the evening of Wednesday, September 17, 2025, a localized thunderstorm triggered severe flash floods across several barangays in Valencia City, Bukidnon, particularly in Purok 20, Poblacion, as well as Purok 13 and Purok 6.
The flooding was sudden and intense, causing significant damage and displacement. Unfortunately, there were some lives lost, and several individuals are still reported missing.
Many affected families have been rescued and are currently staying at the City Gymnasium, where relief operations are ongoing. Donations of food, water, clothing, and other essential items are still being accepted to help support the displaced families.
Despite the tragedy, the spirit of the community remains strong. Valencianos will rise again, united in rebuilding their homes, lives, and city.
